In short
On 24 October 2026, Aevum launched version v1.0.1 of its rebuilt website, aevum.my. The new site has clearer pages that are easier to find in search engines and in AI-generated answers, and it introduces a hybrid way of gathering and checking stories about cultural places, combining AI help with people who review every story. The Aevum app is coming soon.
What’s new on the website
We rebuilt aevum.my from the ground up, and the new version went live on 24 October 2026. Behind the scenes, v1.0.1 is built for search engine optimisation (SEO), answer engine optimisation (AEO) and generative engine optimisation (GEO). In plain terms: our pages should be easier to find on search engines and in AI answers, and each page is clearer about what it covers.
Here is what you can explore now:
- Ipoh city guide: an overview of the city, with places such as Kellie’s Castle and Han Chin Pet Soo. Start at the Ipoh city guide.
- Blog: stories and guides on heritage, gastronomy, arts and religious places, such as the story of Tang Xu Dessert House and how tin made Ipoh.
- Compare: a new Compare section that explains how Aevum’s story-first approach differs from other kinds of travel apps.
- Pages for partners: information for businesses, local government, investors, press and ambassadors.
- Three languages: the site is available in English, Malay and Chinese.
How we now gather and check stories
Before, we asked merchants for their stories one by one. We have now moved to a hybrid approach: AI helps us gather and draft from public sources, and people review every story for cultural nuance.
- Gathering: places and initial information come from public sources, and AI helps us gather them and prepare first drafts.
- Checking: people review every story for cultural nuance, and AI helps us check facts.
- Improving: shops will be able to claim their listing and improve their story. Claiming is coming soon; see the page for businesses. Anyone can report an error by emailing [email protected].
This approach lets us cover more places faster and grow to new cities more easily, with people reviewing every story.
Starting in Ipoh
Aevum launches in Ipoh first, with more cities planned. On the website, you can already read stories from Ipoh about heritage buildings, food traditions, cave temples and street art.
What’s next
- The Aevum app is coming soon. We will share the launch date here when it is confirmed.
- Claiming for businesses is coming soon.
- More stories and places will be added as we research them, and more cities are planned.
